Sam Goldsmith was born in Kentucky to Abraham Goldsmith and Minnie (Aaron) Goldsmith. Sam married Lillye Schultz on October 9, 1899. Sam and Lillye had five children. They lived at 632 S. 39th Street. Sam owned the Spotless Meat Market at 317 E. Market Street. He later owned a tavern, possibly called Goldy's Place, at 1033 W. Market. Sam seems to have been a bit of a scoundrel.

Sam was my great-grandfather (my mother's grandfather). (Ellen White 8/10/2017).
