George was married May 16, 1869 in Lawrence County, by Justice of the Peace, R. L. Burrow, (Book ABC, Page 470), to Miriam Genetta Cowan, born 1852 in Arkansas, died Oct 3, 1888 and buried in the Dover Cemetery.
George was a Union Soldier in the Civil War, Company B, 15 Missouri Cavalry. The Marionville, Missouri Free Press states that George Pendleton died, age 69, when a wagon overturned, throwing him. He had been a widower for 26 years and had two surviving children at that time. He and Miriam had six children, all born in Missouri.
