Louise M. Spurgeon had lived in Tuolumne for two years. She worked as a self-employed licensed day care provider for more than 40 years, and was one of the first licensed in-home day care providers in Stockton.
She enjoyed gold panning, rock hunting, camping, deer watching, gardening, birds, animals and trips to Hawaii. But most of all she enjoyed time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Bilger-Keller and Phillip Keller of Tuolumne and Debra and Steven Strain of Stockton; a son, Harold John Dew of Newport Beach; stepsons Richard Rash Jr. of Tuolumne, Steven Spurgeon and his wife, Mary, and Warren "Butch" Spurgeon, all of Stockton, and Ronald Spurgeon of Oregon; granddaughters Amanda Strain of Redding, Annelise Bilger of Davis and Samantha Strain of Stockton; a grandson, Steven Strain of Stockton; a great-grandson, Brandon Michael Strain of Stockton; and her dogs, Missy and Benson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren H. Spurgeon, in 2002.
