Irvin Dale Losey, 83, of North Vernon passed away at 9:43 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Bigger Township January 27, 1928, Dale was the son of Soloman E. and Lola A. Walters Losey. He married Barbara Laherty May 22, 1948. She preceded him in death on November 14, 1986.
Dale retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1988 after working thirty seven years. He was a fifty year member of the Butlerville Masonic Lodge #219. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening, mushroom hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by three daughters, Karen (David) Shaw of North Vernon, Diane (Ben) Wehling of Edinburgh, and Amy (Frank) Douglas of North Vernon; one son, Steve (Tricia) Losey of Butlerville; grandchildren, Lisa Barlow, Josh and Rachel Shaw, Britt Moss, Patricia Howell, Avery, Delanie, and Reilly Losey, Nathan, Olivia, and Andrew Jarrell; ten great-grandchildren, and his companion and dear friend, Joan Hearche of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers, John, William, Robert, Paul, Donald, James, and Charles Losey; sisters, Irene Keal, and Mary Fisher, and a great – granddaughter, Kali Moss.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2011 at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral Home. Interment will be in Butlerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and a masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
