Fanny Thornal, 81, of Waco, died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Western Heights Baptist Church, Chaplain Curtis Holland and the Rev. Charles Dixon officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.
Mrs. Thornal was born June 2, 1910 in China Spring. She graduated from Waco High School in 1926 and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Baylor University in 1932 and 1956, respectively.
Mrs. Thornal married J.A. Thornal in 1932.
She taught school in Waco, Bosqueville, Connally and Midway for 50 years. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for more than 60 years and played the organ for 75 years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Charles Thornal of Waco and Royce Thornal of DeSoto; sister, Ruth Hulbert of Gholson; two brother, Morris Hill of Baton Rouge, LA and Eugene Hill of Hurst; four grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
