EDGE, MAJOR (RET) HAROLD BOYETTE, JR., age 71, of Pell City, AL died Monday, October 19, 2009 at his home. He was born April 10, 1938 in Fayetteville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Boyette, Sr. and Thelma Edge, brother, Ronald Edge and sister, Patricia Chapman.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ruth Ann Edge of Pell City, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Renée and John Walsh of Marietta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Chester and Roberta Edge of Eatonton, GA, brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Elizabeth Edge of Monroe, NC; granddaughters, Savannah Crandall, Shelby Crandall and Jennifer Browne (Patrick).

He retired from the United States Army after 26 years of service, having attained the rank of Major. He was a highly decorated soldier who served two tours in Vietnam. He is the recipient of the numerous commendations and medals including the Silver Star, Bronze Star with four Oak Lead Clusters and the Purple Heart.

Funeral Services including full military honors will be held October 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
