Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the China Spring Cemetery, Chaplain Bob Painter officiating.
Mr. Payne was born Aug. 23, 1923, in China Spring. He was raised in Axtell and graduated from Axtell High School. He was active in the Boy Scouts and the Future Farmers of America. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He was and aircraft worker at General Dynamincs in Fort Worth for a number of years. He also worked in maintenance at Texas State Technical College for 15 years. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Elsie Lois Mann of Waco; and three brothers, George Payne, Charlie Gene Payne and Robert Leslie Payne, all of Waco.
