Johannes K Eisenbraun was born on September 11, 1875 to Friederich Jacob and Elizabeth Pastler Eisenbraun and was the sixth of their seven children. In his early years Johannes served in the Russian military and was involved in several battle situations. One of the benefits of this service was that Johannes learned to speak five different languages. Johannes married Elizabeth Weigum on February 3, 1904 in Molla-Elli, Crimea, Russia. There were three children (all boys) born to this union. The family immigrated to the United States in 1913 arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 22, 1913. They lived for a time in Nebraska before settling near Colome, South Dakota. Johannes or John as he had come to be called died at his home in 1939 of cancer.
John was survived by his wife Elizabeth, his three sons Jacob A (Alvina), Martin Christian (Adelia), Erhard (Helen) and many grandchildren.
