Clyde W. Wright, 89, formerly of Piedmont, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake St. Louis. He was born May 25, 1921 in Hiram. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the US Army from 1942 to 1945. He was retired from Ford Motor Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Piedmont. He was married April 14, 1943 to Opal Marie Sitze in Aurora, CO and she passed away August 18, 2005.
He is also preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Beulah (Benton) Wright, one son, Clyde D. Wright, 2 brothers, Loren and Carroll Wright, 2 sisters, Berniece Clennon, Geraldine Harlin, 1 granddaughter, Amy Stiltz and 1 great grandson, Steven Stiltz.
He is survived by one daughter, Anita S. Chalk and her husband Johnny, of OFallon, MO, one daughter in law, Judy Wright, of Moscow Mills, MO, one sister, Wilma Ward, of Kansas City, MO, 3 grandchildren, Elaine Chirino and her husband Rob, Christopher Wright and his wife Sarah, Crystal Chalk and 4 great grandchildren, Gavin, Hayley and Brittany Stiltz, and Kelly Wright.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday at the Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark McMullin officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Memorials have been requested to the First Baptist Church in Piedmont.
