Fred Olson, 62, died Tuesday morning of this week.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Valley Mills with the pastor, Rev. Billy McClellan officiating. Burial was in China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Olson suffered a heart attack while making preparations for a Tuesday morning fishing trip to Lake Whitney. He and his wife were on Hog Creek at Patton when he became ill. Mrs. Olson stopped Bill Crawford, a Community Public Service employee who was enroute to Crawford. He radioed in and Krueger ambulance was rushed to the scene. In spite of the efforts of Crawford, Mrs. Olson and Mr. Krueger, Mr. Olson was pronounced dead at Clifton hospital a short time following his attack.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Olson of Valley Mills; daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Crelia of McGregor; two sons, C.V. Olson of Dallas and R.C. Olson of Osage; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Erlanson and Mrs. Anna Wells of Waco; two brothers, Pete Olson and Walter Olson, both of Waco; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Monroe Gaskamp, R.O. Bankhead, Willie Manguim, J.B. Gilbreath, Bernard Odle and Robert Alford.
