Isaac Tanner came to Schulyer, Herkimer County prior to 1800 from Rhode Island he purchased 1200 acres of land in Schuyler paying $4.50 an acre, upon which he resided until his death in his 89th year. He was the grandfather of Darius Clark Tanner, who served as Justice of the Peace for 12 years in Schuyler, Herkimer Co. New York.
