John D. Halbert was born in Louis County, Ky., March 31, 1834 and died November 27, 1914 age 80 years, 7 months and 26 days. Moved to Hancock County, Ill. in 1850. He came to Kansas in 1864 where he lived on a farm in Cedron Township of this county until a few years ago when he came to Lincoln and made his home with his sister, Mrs. Samuel Booz, until his death. He has been a member of the Methodist church for over 50 years, having joined in the east when a young man, thus giving his best years to the Lord. He is survived by two sisters and several nices and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the ist Christian church of Lincoln, Saturday, November 28, 1914. Services conducted by Rev. G. R. Hall and R. L. Hendrickson. Interment was made in the Lincoln Cemetery.
