Candelaria Chavez Romero was called home to Our Heavenly Father on February 16, 2011 at the age of 95. She was born February 2, 1916 in Duran NM, to Mr. and Mrs. Jose Leon Chavez. As a young mother and wife, she was also the owner of a Ladies Apparel store in Vaughn NM. She was preceeded in death by her beloved husband, Santiago Romero Jr.; and two sisters, Alice Gutierrez and Louisita Chavez; and one brother, Jose Lojino Chavez. She is survived by seven children: daughter, Glory Tschabold; son Buddy (Jose Leon) Romero and wife Mary; son Richard Raymond Romero and wife Mary; daughter Angie Kipp; son Jimmy Romero; daughter Barbara Romero; and daughter Liz Romero; She had 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great - great - grandchildren. Catholic Rosary and Mass celebration will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., respectively, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM. Private interment will take place at a later date in Duran, NM. Cremation arrangements were provided by Riverside Funeral Home.
