#44-92050 upon takeoff at Fairchild Air Force
Base, near Spokane, Washington.
The huge bomber crashed into a field just
after liftoff at about 3:45 a.m.
Wing flaps not properly set were blamed
for causing the crash.
Fourteen other servicemen also perished:
