obit:
Sevilla Elizabeth Davidson, daughter of John and Elizabeth Hufford was born February 15, 1827, near Quakerstown, Maryland. At the age of 9 years she came to Ohio with her parents who settled near Dayton, and while living there, at a young age, she manifested a great desire to become a christian [sic], and united with the German Lutheran church of which she has always been a faithful member.

She was united in marriage to Archabald J. Davidson in the year 1847, and in the year 1866 they moved to Shelby county. To this union ten children were born, four of which have preceeded her to their heavenly home, namely George, Andrew, Dora and Mrs. J. Idle and in the year 1891, her beloved companion was also called to his reward.

For other fifty years Grandmother Davidson, as she was familiar known, was a resident of Pemberton and was undoubtedly one of the oldest persons in Shelby county while in her active life she was a very industrious person and a splendid neighbor. During the past four years she has made her home with her son Thomas and family, who during her helpless condition had ministered to her wants with pure effections [sic], until her prayers were answered October 3, 1919, and she was called above to meet her companion and children to part no more, at the age of 93 years, 7 months and 19 days.

She leaves to mourn their loss one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Deam, of Illinois, and five sons, namely Archabald, of Pemberton; Thomas, of Sidney; John, of near Pemberton; William of Dawson, and Henry, of North Dakota. Also thirty-one grand children and forty-eight great grand children besides a host of friends.

Dear mother rest, thy toils are o'er,
Thy pains and sorrows, they are past,
Thy loving smile we'll see on earth no more,
But hope to meet in heaven at last.
