Zepher Australia Heaton was one of ten children born to Israel Hoyt Heaton,(1880-1936) and Charlotte (Cox)Heaton, (1879-1958). Her parents were devout Mormons who were given the most difficult mission to Australia in 1907-1909. Per an excerpt from her father's biography in "Latter-Day Saint"

About two years after his return home, or on Dec 5, 1910 he was ordained...and... moved his family from Mocassin, Arizona to Kanab,{Utah}, April 28, 1913. Brother Heaton has always been a willing and conscientious Church worker."
Zepher Australia Heaton was born Jan 17th of 1907, right about the time her father would have left for his mission in Australia. Her name would have been given in honor of his mission. Her mother was left alone to raise her & her 2 older sisters, Erma, b.1902, & Lola, b.1906, so she was very busy and, apparently, little Zepher was a very sickly child. Medical help was hard to find in Arizona so her mother would have asked for advice from every person she knew & searched through any books available to try to help her daughter, to no avail, then sought out a doctor in Utah.
Zepher only lived one year, 7 months, and 9 days, per her death certificate, and passed from this world on Oct 26, 1908. She probably died just about the time her father returned from Australia. The cause of death listed was chronic Bright's Disease and the little girl was laid to rest at the Orderville Cemetery, Kane County, Utah. Her headstone reads, "An Earthly Joy, A Heavenly Treasure."
