Milford L. Oaks, 77, of Mantachie, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.
Services were Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Oaks was retired U. A. W. and Daybrite employee and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Bramlett Oaks; one son, Wade Oaks and his wife, Sue, of Booneville; two sisters, Dorothy Schmidt of Belmont and Velvatine Elliott of Memphis; four grandchildren, Heather Matthews and her husband Print IV, Amanda Oaks, Matthew Oaks and Mark Oaks.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Grammer, and three brothers, Gordon, Wilford and James Oaks.
