Sir Thomas Englefield (Inglefield)was the son of John Englefield and Joan Milbourne, and the grandson of Robert Englefield.
Sir Thomas was the husband of Margery Danvers, the daughter of Richard Danvers and Elizabeth Langston. They were married in 1487 in Englefield, Berkshire, England and had at least three children:

Richard Englefield, died young
His father died when Thomas was only nine years old, and Thomas was raised by his grandfather whose family had been Lords of the Manor for many generations. Thomas became a Speaker of England's House of Commons from 1496 to 1497 and again in 1509. He was invested as a Knight of the Bath in 1501 on the day of Prince Arthur's marriage. Thomas held land on the Welsh border, notably in Worcestershire where he became a magistrate and High Sheriff.
Sir Thomas was the great grandfather of the Catholic politician, Sir Francis Englefield.
