Toss B. Stone, 74, of China Spring, a 12 year member of the China Spring school board, died Sunday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home Chapel, Chaplain Jake Reimenscheider and the Rev. Stephen Salvesen officiatin. Burial will be at China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Stone was born Feb. 20, 1908, in Criswell, where he attended school. He was married to Addie Cotten in 1927 and moved to the Wortham Bend area in 1933, where he was a rancher and operated a grocery store until retiring.
He was a member of Woodmen of the World and the McLennan County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Dovie Winkelman, Mrs. Bobbie Kimball and Mrs. Kathy Schroeder, all of China Spring, Mrs. Faye Koehne of Killeen and Mrs. Myrna Scott of Bosqueville; a son, Don Stone of China Spring; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Caddell of Sundown, Mrs. Shirley Stone of Groesbeck, Mrs. Nettie Smith of Mart, Mrs. Linnie Walts of Ben Hur and Mrs. Ola Fay Walts of Bosqueville; two brothers, Kirby Stone of Del Rio and Elmer Stone of Marlin; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
