Jerrine Gertrude "Jerry" Freyermuth was born on April 15, 1909 to George and Netta (Custead) Freyermuth. At that time the family lived on a farm near Palisade, Colorado. Five years later, the family returned to Pennsylvania and lived in Fredonia.

After she graduated from high school, Jerry attended Edinboro Normal School (now Edinboro University of Pennsylvania) and became a teacher. She taught in a one-room school house in Mercer County.

Jerry married her beloved husband Cliff Weatherby on Christmas Day in 1935. Together they operated a feed store, then farmed in several locations in Mercer County.

After Jerry and Cliff retired from the farm, Jerry kept busy by doing alterations for a clothing store, baking, gardening and quilting. She taught herself to quilt while listening to "books on tape" with Cliff, who suffered from macular degeneration.

After Cliff died, she continued with these activities for many years. She loved the house that she and Cliff bought in Greenville, and kept living there. She celebrated her 100th and 101th birthdays with parties given by her many friends.

She died on February 12, 2011, just two months away from her 102nd birthday.
