Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Bertrand, the former Lucille Olivier, 85, will be held at 11
a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial in St. Landry
Cemetery.
Mrs. Bertrand, a native of Lafayette and a resident of Opelousas, died Wednesday, January 28,
1998, in J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville. She was a member of the
L.P.N. Association, Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society, other church volunteer groups and the
Catholic Daughters.
Survivors include: a son, Claiborne Roy Bertrand of Opelousas; two daughters, Jeannie Bertrand Gonsoulin of Trinity, Texas, and Catherine "Tootie" Bertrand of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Bertrand was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Roy "Parain" Bertrand; and three sisters, Loula Herminia Olivier Boulanger and Rosa Belle Olivier Thibeaux.
Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas was in charge of arrangements.
