Born 1845, as Louisa Rothwell near Meigs, Tennessee. She lost her father, during the War Between the States, as he was a soldier fighting with the 43rd Tennessee Infantry, CSA. Circa 1865, she accompanied many of her siblings on a journey to Texas County, Missouri to start new lives. Siblings known to have made the journey were, Melissa, George W., Mary Ann, and Sarah.
Louisa married Alfred T. Huffman on June 2, 1872 in Texas County, MO.. Lovey helped him raise his daughter, Sarah A. Huffman. Additionally, Lovie and Alfred had two girls of their own. With the death of her husband, in 1890, Lovie, packed up a covered wagon, and travelled to Osborne County, KS. to seek a new life. She brought her two daughters, and Melissa's son, Louis F. Buster with her.
Lovie's sister, Mary Ann "Rothwell" Miller, also eventually made the journey. Lovey and Mary Ann are buried beside each other.
