(4372) CLARISSA CONE, daughter of Caleb Cone (4168) and Clarissa Sacket, born Paris, Oneida county, New York, August 19, 1817, married Reverend Leonard White, oldest son of Roderick White and Lucy Blakeslee, in Jefferson, Ashtabula County, Ohio, October 10, 1838. He was born Paris May 10, 1817. He was a Methodist preacher, and during the War of the Rebellion was a member of the Christian Commission, and was stationed at Winchester, Virginia, with the Army of the Potomac. This Christian Commission was a grand and noble institution, and had a powerful influence for good among the soldiers of that war. He died in Auburn, New York, June 29, 1878. She died December 17, 1896. Their three sons and a son-in-law were soldiers in the War of the Rebellion.
