"ENTIRE COMMUNITY SHOCKED"
"DR. W. T. Kelley Drops Dead at His Home Tuesday Evening."
"Remains Taken to Corydon, His Former Home Yesterday and Laid to Rest - Leon K.P. Lodge Sent a Committee."
Our usually quiet little city was greatly shocked on Tuesday evening of this week when it was announced that Dr. W. T. Kelley of this place had just fallen dead at his home one block west of the public square. The sad news was broken to the people by a messenger sent from the home who called for a doctor, quick, "Dr. Kelley is dying". Within a minute doctors were upon the ground, but breathing had ceased and the spirit had gone to the great beyond from whence there is no return. Mr. Kelley had been upon the streets and attending to his professional matters during the day in good health seemingly except a bronchial affection.
The immediate cause of his death was pronounced by the doctors to be apoplexy. Dr. Kelley's old home was Corydon where his mother and sister now reside. The remains were taken yesterday to that place in charge of a committee from the Knights of Pythias Lodge of this place, where they will be laid at rest. Deceased leaves a wife and four children who have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement.
