Mecie was born in TN but married J.T. Gribble and moved to TX in 1888, settling in Bell County. Later they moved to Brazoria County before settling in McLennan County. Mr. Gribble died in 1900. After his death she married John Newton Alexander in 1911 and they lived in Moody until his death in 1931. Mrs. Alexander had been living in Waco since the death of her second husband.
