Mrs. Bateman was born June 26, 1930, in Mahomet to Arberry and Ruth Smith Yount. She is survived by her husband Gene Bateman who she married on March 15, 1953, in Mahomet.
Also surviving are their children, Alan Bateman, Mansfield; Ginny (Mike) Copley, Atlanta; Nancy (Jim) Householder, Mahomet; and Bruce (June) Bateman, Weldon; nine grandchildren, Katy Bateman, Amy Bateman, Courtney (Troy) Robb, Carson Copley, Niko Householder, Natalie Householder, Joseph Bateman, Jesse Bateman and Brea Bateman; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Robb, Rylee Robb, Aydin Copley and Madysin Copley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
She received her LPN certificate from Parkland College in 1979.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mansfield, the Masonic Campground at Lake Bloomington and was active in farming and church work.
Her funeral will be Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Mansfield with burial in Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield.
