Charles Higby
Birth: 1841
Death: Feb. 19, 1903

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served during the Civil War as a Private in Company F, 1st Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery from March 29, 1865 to April 9, 1865, in the Appomattox, Virginia Campaign. His citation reads simply "Capture of flag". His Medal was awarded to him on May 3, 1865. He was buried in McLoud, Oklahoma, in Pottawatomie County, cemetery is unknown however, not listed in service records. (bio by: Bill Walker)
