DIES ON NATAL ANNIVERSARY
Herman Schmidt, Sr., Passed Away at 68
Herman Schmidt, 68 years old, died at his home, 208 South Richland street, at 9 o'clock Sunday night. Death occurred on his 68th birthday anniversary.
He was born in Belleville, December, 14, 1845, and was married to Miss Elizabeth Bosch 45 years ago. She died November 28, 1902.
He leaves these children: Herman, Robert, Charles, Ben, Anna, Christina, in Belleville; Sister Fidelis in the Notre Dame convent in New Orleans; Mrs. Theresa Klazek[Klasek] and Mrs. Magdalena Lang, in St. Louis; seven grandchildren; his brother, John Schmidt, and half-brother, Charles Wachtel. He was a Civil War veteran.
The funeral will be Wednesday morning at 8:45 o'clock to St. Peter's Cathedral, thence to Walnut Hill Cemetery.
