Guillermo Chacon, 80, born July 29, 1930, in Delta, Colo., passed away on Monday, Feb.1, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Carlota Chacon; and sisters, Ida Chacon, Ernestine Garcia and Lydia Abeyta. Guillermo is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Olivama; children, Duane Chacon, Diane (Joaquin) Cantu, Dorothy Molina, Denise Gonzalez, Dolly (Michael) James, Delane (Albert) Salazar; grandchildren, Alvin (Nicole), Angelina (Michael), Ray (Krista), Michael Jason (Mary), Melissa (Ross), Sabrina (Raul), Justin, Nadine and Courtney; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert, Fermin, Jerry and Pedro Chacon; sisters, Della Deyoung and Monica Pulumbo; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Guillermo was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed his family gatherings, social network of dancing friends, fishing and working around his yard. He was retired Army Staff Sergeant E7 and a member of the TREA. Viewing, 3 to 6 p.m. Monday with Rosary service to follow at 6 p.m., Romero Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Romero Chapel. Interment, Roselawn Cemetery. Family and friends will be received at Romero Courtesy Hall following both services. Military honors by the Pueblo Veterans Ritual Team.
