Lewis Wardlaw Parker, Jr, 82 of South Hill, died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, in a Richmond hospital.

He was a retired owner/operator of Parker Oil Co., a former State Legislature Delegate and a member of South Hill Masonic Lodge No. 297.

He was the son of the late Lewis W. Parker and Shirley Scott Parker and was predeceased by a daughter Carolyn Le Jau Parker Roberts.

He is survived by his wife Carol Richards Parker; four daughters Patricia Parker Evans and friend K. Wilson Thompson, Sharon Parker Johnson and husband Alvin, Lucia Parker Evans and fianc/ Mark Childress and Sylvia Parker Dawson and husband Wallace; son-in-law Lynn Roberts and wife Linda; "son'' Ed Braxton, stepson Jason Foster and wife Kristen; grandchildren Stephanie Evans Pope and husband Jeffrey, Ben Evans, IV, C. W. Roberts and wife Stephanie, Tricia Roberts Spencer and husband Mike, Keri Gray Johnson and fianc/ Timmy Clour, Trenton Evans and Jessica Taylor, Travis Parker Dawson, Kevin and Casey Jones; great grandchildren Mason Parker Pope and Sarah Avery Pope, Lindsey Nicole Roberts, Charles Owen Roberts, MacKenzie Le Jau Spencer, Kaitlyn Delaney Spencer and Courtney Leigh Spencer, Olivia Ann Evans, Olivia Reed Foster, Charles Hart Foster, Payton Lewis Dawson, Preslee Grace Dawson, Kyndall Grace Jones and Kaden Dennis Jones, a brother Charles Francis Parker and wife Beth; a special friend, Guy Sawyer of Columbia, N.C., his god son Andrew Thomas Copeland and his ever faithful friend and loved one, Frances L. Jones.

A funeral service was conducted Tuesday at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery Near Palmer Springs at a later date. The family received friends Monday at the funeral home.
