Mrs. Arthur I Goodenough
Mrs. Arthur I. Goodenough passed away at her home in the village of Middlefield, Monday evening, April 27th, after a long period of declining health. Martha Bailey Goodenough was the daughter of Albert and Savilla (Thayer) Bailey and was born Aug. 6, 1860.
She was twice married, her first husband being Charles Cox whose death occurred a number of years ago. March 18, 1891, she was united in marriage with Arthur Goodenough who survives her and who has patiently cared for her during her illness. She is also survived by a daughter, Mrs. William Averill, who resides in California, three sisters, Mrs. Ceylon Peaslee of Cooperstown, mrs. Charles Cornell and Mrs. Ennis Madison of Hillsdale and by two brothers, Erastus Bailey of Schenectady and Fred Bailey, all of whom have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
The funeral was held from her late home Wednesday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Walter Miller, pastor of the Baptist church officiating. Burial in the Middlefield cemetery.
