Funeral services for Mr. Ather E. Brown, 83, of Sparta, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta. Burial was in Saylors Cemetery with Hunter Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Sept. 18 at his home.
Survivors include five sons, Thomas Brown, Eddie Brown, and Steve Brown, all of Cookeville, Jeff Brown, Livingston, and Mike Sorter, Indiana; two brothers, Oscar Brown, Sparta, and Ed Brown, Nashville; and three sisters, Rose Beulah Smith, Hilham, Josie McCarmack, Indiana, and Marion Fannon, Ohio.
