The second child and eldest son (of eleven children) of John Henry and Selina (Daubner) Cooper. He was born on America's Centennial and exactly two years after his sister Marion. His baby sister Alice May (twin of Alvin Ray) died in Sept. 1894.

At age 13 (Nov. 1889), he witnessed the killing of his Uncle Peter by his Uncle Edwin on the family property.

Percy had an education through 10th grade (June 1892).

The brother that followed him in birth order, James, died in Dec. 1915 at age 37.

Percy had blue eyes, brown hair, full mustache and tall in height. He had very dashing looks as a young man. As the eldest son, he looked the most like his father. Percy was a farmer all his life and lived a very simple and quiet life. He never married or had children.

He lived on the family property at 12101 W. Oklahoma Ave in West Allis for his entire life, being joint owner with his other unmarried siblings upon the death of his mother in Dec. 1937.

Percy died four years later at age 65 (just 6 days before Pearl Harbor day). His older sister Marion predeceased him in 1939. Percy was survived by his brothers Bert, George (Anna), Milton (Neoda), Peter (Antoinette), and Ray (Henrietta) and by his sisters Mabel and Inez. Percy also had 7 nephews and 6 nieces (born between 1900 and 1938) at the time of his death. Two nieces, Inez Anna Stanhope and Ruth (Stanhope) Ellis predeceased him in 1940 and 1941 respectively.
