August Anthony Babin Jr., a retired civil engineer, died Monday of cancer at Metropolitan Hospice. He was 69. Mr. Babin was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He attended St. Aloysius High School and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Caruso Babin of New Orleans; a son, Gregory Paul Babin of Metairie; two sisters, Marguerite Jackson of Houston and Carolyn Butler of River Ridge; and two grandchildren.
