Married Susanna McBride in 1833 in Summit Co., OH.
Joel & Susanna had fourteen children (four of which served in the Civil War), those not yet linked:

John b Sep 24, 1837 & d Jul 19, 1839
William b Jul 16, 1845 & d Aug 19, 1845
Susan Louise b May 22, 1848 (no further info)
In 1854 he was Minister of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. He was also a farmer and in 1860 had a real estate value of $5600 and personal value of $2644.
