Jason spent most of his childhood and married life living in the area of present-day Sullins Hollow Road, Jared Hollow Road and Brindley Hollow Road, which is on the edge of Putnam County near Smith County, TN. Despite the "mailing address" for this area as being Buffalo Valley - it technically is NOT Buffalo Valley as we think of it today. Buffalo Valley just happens to be the zip code for these communities.
Jason and Cora Vint married siblings ---- John Carroll was Jason's brother and Tennessee was Cora Vint's sister.
Jason was the first patient in what was the Smith County Memorial Hospital --- in Carthage, TN - somewhere, I have the plaque from the clock that was placed on the lobby wall in his honor. He died of a massive heart attack. After his death, Vint would travel (all the time) to see her sons in Michigan, who went there for work, and/or to Florida to see her daughter Cora Mai and her family, who also went to Florida to find work. My mother, Linda Jean Sullins-Bush, told me she was quite the talker - and always dressed up --- and always carried photos of her family to share with whoever would listen. I do recall her, she passed when I was 8 years old ---- I recall her giving me some costume jewelry ---- and one time I was crying about something - and she said "Come on over here and cry in my hands -- they are dry!"
