JACKSON, Lorene (Norfleet), 94, of Lake Placid, passed away Wednesday evening, February 23, 2005, at the Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.

She was an early 1900s pioneer school teacher in Illinois who taught in a traditional little red schoolhouse for that time period. She moved to Lake Placid in 1978 from Pembroke Pines, Fla., and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid and a 50-year member of the Order of the Easter Star in Mount Vernon, Ill.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, LeRoy; daughter, Nancy Posner of Davie, Fla.; sons, Donald Jackson of Lake Placid and Charles Hilton of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, March 6, with services at 4 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd. The Rev. Drew Severance will be officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, Lake Placid, (863) 465-4134.
