He was born Dec. 27, 1911, in Lawrence County. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a retired farmer. He had served on the Red Oak and Avilla Road Districts. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of First United Methodist Church, Carthage. He was a member of the Carthage American Legion and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He married Margaret Cordelia Pyle Dec. 27, 1941, at Red Oak. She survives. Additional survivors include a son, LeRoy Uber, Nixa; a daughter, Joan Archer, Carthage; a sister, Avalee Meister, Carthage; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, at First United Methodist Church, Carthage. The Revs. J.K. Wright and Roger McKee officiated. Burial was in Red Oak Cemetery, west of Miller, under direction of Morris Leiman Mosher Funeral Home, Miller.
