Funeral services for Mrs J H Bowen, 66 who died suddenly at her home near Gary last Wednesday night from a cerebral hemorrhage, were held from the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock. Dr Alfred Waller had charge of the services, and burial was made in the Brush Cemetery.
Mrs Bowen was widely known in the vicinity south of Brush where the family had lived for more than twenty years. She is survived by her husband, seven sons, Andy, Charles, Tom, Oscar, Jess, and John all of Gary, George Bowen of Washington, and six daughters, Mrs Jeannette Lake, Mrs Mary Laffoon, Mrs Carrie Bushnell, Pearl Bowen, all of Gary, Mrs Winnie Allen of Kartridge, Mo,, and Mrs Sadie Smith of Salem Ore.
The family located in Colorado 1908 coming here from Missouri
