Joe Clon Applegate, 78, of Las Vegas, N.M., a native of Russellville, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1926, son of the late Clon C. Applegate and Sally R. Davis, an Army veteran of World War II and a Navy veteran of the Korean conflict, and retired electronics technician working for the Federal Aviation Administration for 23 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Applegate; and a sister, Mildred Ragsdale.
Survivors include his wife, Edith M. Applegate; two sons, Joe W. Applegate of Nederland, Texas, and Cullen Applegate and his wife, Gloria, of Chacon, N.M.; three daughters, Linda Allison and her husband, Tom, Annette Montoya and her husband, Mark, and Kathy Christianson, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; a sister, Lois Galloway and her husband, Fred, of Russellville; a brother-in-law, Lewis Pauley of Wichita, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The body was cremated. Arrangements were by Rogers Mortuary at Las Vegas, N.M.
Graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at BALL HILL Cemetery near Russellville with Mike Galloway officiating.
