Eloise M. Porter, 72, of LaGrange, Mo., formerly of Lewistown, died Friday, May 10, 2002, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Born January 26, 1930, in Kirksville, she was a daughter of Walter and Iva Merrell Gosney. She married Lloyd Penn, on December 7, 1951. He died May 14, 1982. She later married William (Bill) Porter, on January 30, 1987. He died January 23, 2001. Mrs. Porter managed Lewistown Farmers Supply for 18 years, and operated B & E Grocery in Billmore, Mo., for ten years with her husband, Bill. She was a member of LaGrange Christian Church. Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. Steve (Judy) Griesbaum, LaGrange; two stepsons, Dale Porter and his wife Christina, El Paso, Tex. and David Porter and his wife Barb, Foristell, Mo.; a step daughter, Mrs. Paul (Jeanie) Keller, Quincy; two granddaughters, Mrs. Doug (Brenda) Mallett and Kimberly Stambaugh, both of LaGrange; four step granddaughters, Courtney and Whitney Keller, both of Quincy, and Brooke and Darcy Porter, both of Foristell. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands. Visitation was held Monday, May 13, at the Davis Funeral Home in LaGrange. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 14, at Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Marshal Conklin officiating. Burial was in Lewistown Cemetery. Music was provided by: Ola Gail Wilson, organist, and Rev. Marshal Conklin, vocalist.
