William Kelly Johnson passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the age of 80. He was born December 20, 1925 to Arthur Sigadur Johnson and Lilly Jameson Johnson in Spanish Fork, Utah and grew up in Spanish Fork. He married Norma Stone August 29, 1946 in Mapleton, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple in 1960. Kelly served in the infantry during World War II. He worked for Geneva Steel for 38 years. He enjoyed farming and shared his farming skills with many others until the last few years. He raised five children in Mapleton and taught them the value of hard work and integrity. Kelly loved the youth and served 12 years as coach in little league baseball. He also served many years in the scouting and 4-H programs. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. He enjoyed his membership in The Squaw Peaks Sams Club. Kelly and his wife served two church missions in Nauvoo and Michigan and served many years as a Provo Temple worker. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma Stone Johnson; his children: Kelly (RoseAnn) Johnson, Evanston, WY; Joy (Burt) Pulispher, Wellington; Karen (Scott) Eastman, Orem; Dan (Debbie) Johnson, Spanish Fork; Val (Jocelyn) Johnson, Rexburg, ID; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by seven siblings of Spanish Fork: Mae Wilson, Olive Bowman, Arthur Johnson, Dawn Peery, Fred Johnson, Shirl Johnson and Scott Johnson. He was preceded in death by Margaret Williams and Clark Johnson. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork LDS Church at 800 East 400 North. There will be a viewing held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 82 West 400 North in Mapleton and at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
