Son of James William Chamberlin & Angelith Jones. Came with his family as a baby to Oregon via the Isthmus of Panama. The family homesteaded in Whitman Co, Wa from 1872-75 and then moved on to Idaho. He did a variety of jobs from mail carrier, postmaster, forest ranger, miner, stage driver, drugstore owner, & farmer. He married the widow Anna Mahala (Fincher) Templeton 22 Nov 1899 at her ranch in Whitman Co, after a 3 year secret courtship. They had 3 children: Marjorie Beatrice, Charles Wayne, & Anna Beryl. He died at the home of his daughter Marjorie Beatrice Moody.
