Ebenezer H. James served as a Private in Company A of the 121st Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the American Civil War.
He was wounded on July 1, 1863, the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg.
He died of tetanus on July 15 at the 3rd Division, I Corps hospital, and was initially buried in the Associate Reformed Graveyard in Gettysburg.
He enlisted in the Army on August 23, 1862.
