Mary Priscilla Gaston was the daughter of Robert Kirkpatrick Gaston and Letitia Elizabeth Suddath. She married Dr. William Jefferies Goodman on February 13, 1867. Priscilla and William had four children: Berta (1868-1870), Sallie Gertrude (1871-1939), William Gaston (1875-1937) and Etta Gwendolen (1878-1915).

Died January 1, 1915, after an illness of several weeks, one of the oldest and most highly esteemed citizens. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Dr. W.J. Goodman to whom she was married about 50 years ago in Tyler. Also survived by 2 daughters and 1 son; 3 brothers: W.H. and John H. Gaston of Dallas; Mack Gaston of Kaufman; 1 sister, Mrs. John Read, of Dallas. [published in the Tyler Daily Courier Times, January 1, 1915]
