Her birth date, 31 Mar 1784, as recorded in "Handschrift" in the family's German bible, which came down to me through Catharine's sister, Mary (Polk) Lonas. Her father, Adam, consistently used the name Pock throughout the inscriptions. (I have no idea where the name Pocke came from. I've never seen this in the Shenandoah Co. records.)
Proof of place of birth: Her parents were married in Shenandoah County, Va., and never left. They were married on 21 Apr 1783, as per the first inscription in the Bible. It was recorded in Shenandoah Co. on 22 Apr 1783, as shown in the page from A History of Shenandoah County, Virginia (John W. Wayland, Ph.D.). Adam lived in the Stony Creek area of Shenandoah Co. He was there through the marriage of his children. His will was recorded in Shenandoah Co., prove date 11 Oct 1813 (witnessed by "John Hunnerhouser" (Humrickhouser, married to Barbara Quickel) and Leonard Lonas (either my 3rd or 4th ggf, depending on whether Jr or Sr).
