He was born to John Washington and Martha Seeds Clardy. He attended Hickory Creek School. He was a co-founder of the Benton County Sunshine School. He was a greeter and member of the First Baptist Church in Rogers. He was a farmer and a former employee of Charles Schute Construction Co. He was an employee of Callison-Lough Funeral Services for more than 20 years before his retirement. He owned and operated a lawn service for 15 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. His first wife, Josa Blanche Scoles Clardy, died in January 1981.

Survivors include his wife, Janie Clardy to whome he was married Jan. 14, 1984. three sons and daughter-in-laws, four daughters and sons-in-law, 27 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and 4 stepchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benton County Sunshine School, 2309 Moberly Lane, Bentonville, 72712; St. Mary's Hospice, 1200 W. Walnut St., Rogers, 72756, or the First Baptist Church in Rogers.
