Mrs. Eva Lou Ellis Caldwell Hollifield, 92, died Friday, July 23, 2010, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.
A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Smyrna Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church with the Rev. James Mitchell and Dr. Dwight Pearson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Lattimore, N.C. on Oct. 31, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Hugh Ellis and Della Blanton Ellis. Mrs. Hollifield was a graduate of Blacksburg High School and a member of Smryna ARP Church. She was formerly employed with Western Auto of Blacksburg, S.C. Mrs. Hollifield was the widow of Herbert Andral Caldwell and William Tull Hollifield.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Caldwell and his wife, Hart, of Chester and Hugh Caldwell and his wife, Patsy, of Lexington; four grandchildren, Andy Caldwell and Missy Barton, both of Lexington, and Susan Lalli and Elizabeth Caldwell, both of Chester; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler and Bryson Caldwell, Zac and Hannah Barton and Hunter, Hayden and Maria Lalli.
