James Philip Murray was the son of Jacob Murray (Morian) and Mary Ann Schwab. His father was a German immigrant who worked for the P.R.R. After Civil War service in Company H, 3rd Regiment, Pa. Provencial Cavalry, James went to work for the railroad too. He lived in Port Matilda and Warrior's Mark.
