Velma M. Roy, 78, of Wallisville, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, May 8, 2006, at the Liberty Church of Christ with burial following at Anahuac Cemetery in Anahuac. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Velma was born February 21, 1928 in Nacogdoches and has resided in the Wallisville area since 1950. She was a homemaker and former employee at Linda‚s Gifts in Anahuac, member of the Liberty Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and canning. Mrs. Roy was preceded in death by her parents: Dan and Lillie Mae Fisher McKey, sisters: Lula Mae, Ruby, and Thelma, and brothers: D.J. „Pug‰, Evan, Jessie „Son‰. She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Gerald W. „Shorty‰ Roy of Wallisville, daughter: Lucille Roy of Wallisville, sons: Mike Roy and wife Reva of Wallisville and Butch Roy and wife Marie of Raywood, seven grandchildren: Shawn Knight and husband Tony, Michal Harrison and husband Brent M., Nick Foreman, Amos Roy, Sara Johnston and husband Jeremy, Josh Roy, Brian Roy, five great-grandchildren: Tanner, Callie, Ally, Trace, and Caleb, brothers: Lonnie McKey, Edward McKey, Glen McKey, and James Stevens, sisters: Liz Jenkins, Etta Hieronimus, Bessie Owens, Hester Marie Donaldson, and Louise McShan, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
